About the Guard   Non Service Prior Service Member Officer Qualifications Recruiter Contact                                               PATHS TO AN OCS COMMISSION - ACCELERATED OCS NGB Officer Candidate School Options Accelerated NGB Officer Candidate School  The National Guard Bureau (NGB) conducts an eight-week Accelerated OCS program for qualified personnel. This program is an intense course conducted over 8 weeks, from January to March and June to August each year. At the successful completion of the course, you will be eligible for commissioning pending federal recognition.  Screening and indoctrination sessions occur during OCS IDT drills in the March-May period each year.  Training for candidates from Tennessee happen in 3 Phases: Pre-Phase consists of 3 IDT periods (April-June) at the 117th RTI.
